One of the great things with MF cymbals is that the maker is a drummer with a solid grasp of what constitutes a 'proper' cymbal. And each cymbal is a personal statement, not a product passed from person to person via a production line. Something so personal as a cymbals should never be made so impersonally.

While larger makers can - and do - produce some great cymbals (though you might never find one), in many instances those making the cymbals and managing the process aren't even drummers let alone people who understand the nuances of response, tone, other critical criteria so important to discerning players. That isn't a total negative - people designing and assembling spaceships don't get to fly in them.

But a fine cymbal is like a tailored suit - you want it to fit perfectly. And with MF the man whose initials are on the cymbal is the designer, the crafter, the tester...and if needed, the tweaker who tailors the sound to perfection.
